While a guest at the Unique Yankee Inn at Christmas Cove, guest can now sign up to attend an on-site home energy lecture on "How To Slash Your Home Heating Bills this Fall". The lecture is conducted by Richard Munson, President of par/PAC Inc. (www.parpac.com)

Richard is the husband of Cheryl Munson, owner of the Unique Yankee Inn. Richard is a specialist in the field of home insulation energy conservation and auditing. He is a life long student of residential energy conservation. Richard has lectured in the building science field on 4 continents including 7 trips to Australia where he assisted the AMWU (Australian Metal Works Union) with the development of their safety standards for exposure to man-made mineral fibers (Fiber Glass). Richard has conducted energy seminars in every state in America over the past 30 years. He and his wife Cheryl have built 2 passive solar homes on Ruthersford Island at Christmas Cove, one of which is a 4400 square foot Unique Yankee Inn and the other (100 yards away) is the Inn's 3400 square foot nationally acclaimed passive solar/energy miser "GREEN" personal residence. That dwelling is used for "Over Flow" for the Inn's Manor House and as a lecture hall for Inn guest who are interested in obtaining solid well documented information on "Green" build practices and the proper materials and methods required to slash heating and cooling bills while substantially improving comfort and safety levels in the home. The Annex has a 864 Square Foot class room which is regularly used for training builders and home owners on the principals of "GREEN" energy efficient sustainable construction. Guest of the Inn are welcome to take part in the 2 hour program that compares the 9 different types of home insulation and reviews the 10 criteria for evaluating the performance characteristics of each insulation type as set forth by the Journal of Light Construction. At the conclusion of the lecture Inn guests receive a free DVD video summarizing the features of energy efficient construction and a packet of documentation from sources like the governments Oak Ridge National Laboratories, Energy Design Update and OSHA.
